Dear Reader,
Summer is heating up for me in more ways than just high temperatures. Yes, it’s hot here in Colorado but I’ve been especially busy with conference speaking, writing and travel with more to come. Sometimes feel more like a circus juggler than author!
Just arrived back from New York where I spoke at Craftfest, a part of Thrillerfest conference, on How to Write the Unputdownable Novel. My son flew in from Seattle to attend the conference and turned out to be a huge help to me during my own workshop. More people attended than I’d anticipated and I ran out of handouts. Blake managed to photocopy enough so everyone left with a copy–along with one of my books. I talked about “hooking” the reader at the beginning and the end of each chapter. It’s what I try to do with every book.
Between having a drink with author friends Lisa Gardner, Heather Graham, and Meg Gardiner, chatting with Lee Child and Jeffrey Deaver, and listening to Scott Turow talk about his life as an author, I also visited some NY sites of interest and attended Hedwig and the Angry Inch, starring Neil Patrick Harris. Awesome.
Now I’ll put on my author hat.
One of my favorite historical western romances, THE BAREFOOT BRIDE, will be in stores in paperback on July 15, with a fabulous brand-new cover. This is yet another mail-order bride story, about a Boston widow who comes all the way to Fort Benton Montana. Read more.
For everyone asking for UNFORGETTABLE, it’s not out yet! AAACK. I’m working hard, but just didn’t finish in time. I’m in the final editing stages and anticipate it will epublished before the end of the month. I’m so sorry for the delay. If you haven’t already signed up for my enewsletter, please do so as I’ll let everyone know as soon as it’s available. SINFUL is finished and due for publication on April 28, 2015. It will be followed by SHAMEFUL in late June 2015.
Next up on my travel schedule is attending the national Romance Writers of America conference in San Antonio, TX. If you’re attending or live in the area, please say hello to me at the open-to-the-public booksigning event. Details here.
Take care and enjoy the summer reading!
