Antelope Canyon
I just returned from my annual mother-daughter trip to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, Sedona, and Flagstaff, Arizona. My daughter and I walked through spectacular Antelope Canyon and enjoyed a sumptuous dinner at Big John’s Texas Barbecue in Page just outside Lake Powell. If you’ve never seen the Grand Canyon, it’s breathtaking! Photographs don’t adequately convey the overwhelming experience of standing next to such a wide expanse of eroded rock carved out over thousands of years.
My September dinner party had a peacock theme, 
including a colorful array of feathers at the center, with contrasting rust-colored mums, orange placemats, woven wood napkin rings, and polka-dot napkins. These bamboo-handled knives an
d forks were bought by my mom in the Philippines, where we lived in 1953-54! I served my own recipe of orange chicken with raisins over rice and green beans with almonds.
